DECOR SILK

DECOR SILK is a ready-to-use, high elasticity, acrylic decorative coating in paste form, suitable for “microcement” type applications on walls and floors. It provides a smooth final finish as well as exceptional water resistance and protection from fungi, weather conditions and mechanical stress. It is available in numerous shades through the THRAKON coloring system.

• Suitable for indoor and outdoor applications, on vertical surfaces of concrete, plaster, gypsum boards, cement boards and other substrates after appropriate preparation

• Substrate should be flat, free from loose particles, grease and oils. All new and old substrates should first be primed with DÉCOR PRIM.
• In very demanding applications and substrates that are going to be imposed to heavy loads we recommend the application of the microcement coatings DECOR or DECOR SUPERIOR before applying DECOR SILK. 24 hours after the application of DÉCOR PRIM, DÉCOR SILK is applied by plastic or metal trowel, depending on the style we want to achieve, in two layers. The second layer should be applied at least 3 h or after the complete drying of the first.
• Horizontal surfaces (staircases, floors etc.) require the use of glass fibre mesh 140-160 gr/m2 after the first layer of DÉCOR SILK for better mechanical stress resistance, as well as expansion joints every 25 m. After the application of DÉCOR SILK, it is suggested to protect and waterproof the surface using the protective varnish DÉCOR PROTECT.
• Demanding applications and places with permanent moisture require the application of DÉCOR PU VARNISH, or DÉCOR PU AQUA.
• The application of fibre mesh on small surfaces (eg kitchen) provides a rigid result. Furthermore, expansion joints secure the observation of mechanical displacements without problems. Glass fibre mesh is considered mandatory for surfaces greater than 25 m².

In sealed containers in a cool and dry environment for 24 months from the production date.
