Applications
Repair
Every kind of repair can be made with ΤΗRΑΚΟΝ repairing products. Older constructions often require maintenance in order to repair some problems that have appeared through time. With the necessary repairs on masonry (inside and outside), on reinforced concrete, on plasters, paints, etc, problems can be solved and construction may be renewed and upgraded.

Moreover, after a period of time, restoration is a critical need. THRAKON offers complete solutions characterised by high quality and efficiency systems, in order to make the renovation process a safe and guaranteed solution, durable in time.

THRAKON products are certified according to the European Norms, covering the needs of the most demanding applications.

Rules for a correct application of repair mortars
Remove the damaged parts of the concrete until you reach healthy substrate.
Fully uncover the metal reinforcement to the points that will be repaired, so that it is possible to coat with the WRM 510 primer.
Then clean the reinforcement from rust using shipping hammer, brush, sand blasting or needle guns, depending on the size and extent of the corrosion.
Wash and clean the surfaces (armature and concrete) with water under pressure.
The concrete surfaces on which the repair mortar will be applied should be wetted to saturation and the excess water should be removed.
During implementation, attention should be paid to remove the generated wind, and not imprisoned air bubbles on the surfaces of concrete and reinforcement.
The primed surfaces must be protected from rapid evaporation, especially during the summer months, to avoid cracking with light maceration or cover with damp cloth.
The material should be applied when the external temperature is between + 5 ° C and + 35 ° C, and not in the rain.
When the temperature is high, the strength is developed faster and the workability of the material is reduced. At low temperatures, strengths develop late.
Retention of liquid and avoidance of rapid evaporation of the surface are recommended, particularly when the temperature is high or when applied under strong sunlight.
Paints
Top quality paints, with great hiding power, big variety of shades through STATUS Tinting System, for inside (eco) or external (insulating) surfaces

Rules for correct paint application
Choose the right tools for every surface and material.
Select the appropriate primer to stabilize the surface to paint. The primer provides the link between surface and color.
Prepare and check the surface. The surface must be dry, solid, free from dust, mold, grease and loose debris.
Seal with suitable materials the spots which may get wet such as gutters, joints, windows, cracks etc.
Avoid application of color at high temperatures and particularly when the surfaces are directly exposed to sunlight.
Avoid metallic surfaces without the removal of rust and the following embodiment 1-2 anticorrosive paint layers
The glossy and smooth surfaces should be sanding to gain better traction
Follow all product instructions to achieve guaranteed results
Apply the next layer (if required) after the previous one has dried
Cleaning
Clean every dirt or graffiti from every surface.
Tiling
Tiling applications according to the tile, substrate and use of area

Rules for proper tiling
For bonding the tiles we place a glue, depending on the surface, and then it is combed with a notched trowel in order to have a uniform spreading of the adhesive.
The dimensions of the trowel depend on the size of the tiles. For large tiles, spatulas with large teeth are used.
Where necessary suitable guides are used (crosses, tees, etc.)
After application of the elements, we press or hit them slightly to ensure full contact of their entire surface with the adhesive.
After the placement of the element there is still time to make minor adjustments (see the correction time for each adhesive separately).
The tiles can be placed for about 20 minutes, after coating the adhesive on the surface.
If by controlling the glue you find that a "skin" has been formed, then remove it and install a new one.
On surfaces larger than 25 m² expansion joints must be installed. Connections between floors / walls should be made with suitable silicone mastics.
You should avoid applying the adhesive under heat or freezing conditions (ideal conditions + 5 ° C to + 35 ° C).
Floors
Flooring systems for all uses (residential, professional spaces)

Rules for correct application of cementitious floor
The concrete must be dry, solid, free from loose particles, dust, paint, waxes, oils.
Large cavities should be properly addressed before implementation.
After washing well with water and after drying to be primed with the acrylic primer GLX 290, dissolved in a ratio of 3 parts water: 1 part primer.
The absorbent and old surface, are fixed with the same primer.
Apply NSD 600 after the complete drying of the primer (about 2-6 hours).
Drivers must be removed immediately after application.
If conditions causing abrupt drying of the product exist, such as high temperatures, required light spraying with water for the first two days after application.
Allow the product to dry completely before the next application. During the application, but in the next 24 hours, the temperature of the environment and the substrate should be between + 5 ° C and + 35 ° C.
Microcement
Microcement DECOR system implementation process. The system is the ideal solution for new and existing constructions, meeting the most demanding specifications.

Rules for proper application </ strong>
THRAKON offers an innovative solution proposed by THRAKON as complete trowelled screed systems. With DECOR and DECOR FINE PLUS we can decorate uniquely masonry surfaces or floors, achieving an excellent result from an aesthetic standpoint.

Rules for proper floor filling 3-10cm before application of microcement</ strong>
The concrete must be dry, solid, free from loose particles, dust, paint, waxes, oils.
Large cavities should be properly addressed before implementation.
After washing well with water and after drying it should be primed with the acrylic primer GLX 290, dissolved in a ratio of 3 parts water: 1 part primer.
Absorbent and old surfaces can be fixed with the same primer.
Apply 600 NSD after the drying of the primer (approximately 2-6 hours).
Drivers must be removed immediately after application.
In case weather conditions cause abrupt drying of the product, such as high temperatures, light spraying with water for the first two days after application is required.
Let the product dry completely before the next application.
During the application, but in the next 24 hours, the temperature of the environment and the substrate should be between + 5 ° C and + 35 ° C.
ETICS
Analysis of the solutions provided by CLIMAPLUS system, the most complete external insulation system in the Greek market. A choice among six thermal insulation products and 35 different end surfaces. CLIMAPLUS is a complete external thermal insulation system for buildings. It consists of thermal insulation plates, expanded polystyrene, extruded polystyrene or mineral wool, adhesive for thermal insulation plates on surface of building, coating material of thermal insulation plates, reinforcement mesh of coating, colored primer, final colored and decorative plaster and several helpful materials (plastic anchors, corner profiles, starters etc.) With the external thermal insulation system ClimaPlus, you can plaster and insulate the exterior of your house, fast and easy. ClimaPlus creates a cover protection to the building which reduces the transfer of heating from and towards the interior. So, in winter the heat loss is reduced and in the summer the heat flow to the building is reduced. By reducing the thermal losses from the building, at the same time reduces the energy which must be consumed for supply the various cooling-heating systems up to 60% on average per year. Moreover, the initial construction cost of the installation of central heating or air conditioning system is limited. The depreciation time of the system is relatively low, ranging from 4-8 years. Waterproofing
Waterproofing for all applications: Roof waterproofing with or without slopes, basements, wet (damp) areas (bathroom, WC), potable water tanks etc.

Rules for proper waterproofing
Make sure that surfaces are clean and free from loose impurities, salts, oils and other contaminants.
Remove projections and burrs, polyurethane or other soft materials.
Cut bars protruding at depth 1,5 - 2,0 cm.
Close all holes or cracks with fast setting repair mortar THRAKON WRM 520 or WRM 500 (according to the situation).
Make sure when you apply the product that the water does not run into the substrate.
Pour water on the surface until saturation and remove excess water.
The first coat should be applied with the brush. Make sure that the product covers all the gaps.
When the first coat is finished and before it dries completely, apply crosswise the second one, also by brush.
If required, the first level should be watered beforehand. During, and three hours after application of the product, the ambient temperature should not be below + 5ºC. Application on substrates exposed to direct sunlight, very high temperatures (over + 30ºC) or during strong winds is not advised. You may not apply in rain or frost conditions.
Plasters
All plastering systems and solutions, depending on application conditions (humidity conditions, thickness of application, indoor or outdoor space)

Rules for a correct application of repair mortars
Avoid large thicknesses (> 2 cm) in a layer. For larger thicknesses apply two or more layers of the same plaster, applying the second layer as the first is still wet.
Make the surfaces smooth with the basic plaster (plaster or first level plaster) and not with the scratch or finishing.
The final layer of plaster is applied after the basic plaster has dried completely (> 20 days).
Scratch the surface to reduce stress, contractions.
Do not use too much water when sanding.
Keep the working joints (wherever they exist) or create expansion joints every 4m when large surfaces are plastered.
In places where there is dange of rising humidity, place suitable membrane to cut it.
Cover the top plaster endpoints (such as rails) with marble, and use the window gowns to avoid excessive wetting of plastered surfaces.
Fresh plastered surfaces must be protected from rain, frost, strong wind and intense sunlight.
During the application, but in the next 24 hours, the temperature of the environment and the substrate should be between + 5 ° C and + 35 ° C.
During the summer months, the plastered surfaces should be slightly moistened for 2-3 days after plastering.
