SKW 117 STONE

SKW 117 STONE provides vertical slip resistance of the tile on the wall, very strong bonding to all common inorganic substrates and high resistance to weather conditions (rain-heat-frost). It has extended open time (up to 30 min) that helps application teams to increase their productivity. It is classified as C1ΤE adhesive according to ΕΝ 12004 for internal and external use.

• The substrate must be flat, free from brittle and loose particles such as plaster residues, paints, oils, etc. It must be stable and free from shrinkage and distortion tensions and must not be subject to vibrations. Absorbent substrates should be primed with GLX 290 or GLX 292 FLEX PRIM before application.
• In a clean container add 6,0-6,5 litters of clean water and gradually empty the content of a 25Kg bag of SKW 117 STONE, stirring continuously with an electric mixer in order to acquire a uniform slurry of mortar.
• Let the mixture rest for 5 minutes and stir again. The mixture is ready for application within the next 4 hours.
• After the preparation of the mixture do not add more water in order to adjust the workability of the slurry. This would lead to the reduction of its mechanical strengths and to the increase of its shrinkage.
• Spread the adhesive on the substrate and then comb it with notched trowel.
• Within the next 30 min from the application of the adhesive, place the tiles at their location, pressing firmly in order to ensure full contact.
• The tile installation on the wall may be performed starting form the upper part of the wall with the entire tile and without any slippage. The excess adhesive must be removed from the joints prior to its drying.
• On surfaces larger than 25m₂ it is necessary to install expansions joints. At the connection between floors and walls it is recommended apply suitable silicon sealants.
• During application and for the next 24 hours the ambient and substrate temperature should be between +5_oC and +35_oC. The adhesive is cleaned with water while still wet. When it hardens it is removed mechanically.

Preserved in sealed packages for at least 12 months after production date, in places protected against humidity, frost and intense radiation
