Description

HYDRO R is a ready to use, silicone-based, transparent, hydrophobic impregnation for absorbent surfaces. It does not form a film, it is vapor permeable allowing respiration of building components and it doesn’t change the surface appearance. It offers long-term protection and it provides excellent water repellent properties. It is suitable for application on high alkalinity substrates. Due to the protection of the surface from rain and dirt, no efflorescence problems arise from salts and no defects from frost and dirt. It is also applied as a primer for dispersion or solvent paints.

Application Fields

  • It is used for protection against the impact of rain on various surfaces such as aerated concrete (YTONG type), plaster, exposed concrete, exposed masonry, brick, roof tiles, and tile joints, natural and artificial stones, tiles, etc.

Advantages

  • Long-term protection
  • Excellent water-repellency
  • Efflorescence protection
  • Protect from frost
  • Maintain a clean surface
  • Does not create film
  • Protects against the negative effect of chlorides
  • It is vapor permeable, allowing the breath of components
  • It doesn’t alter the surface appearance

Implementation Steps

  • The substrate must be dry, stable, free of dust, dirt, oil, and free from loose particles. Before application protect the adjacent surfaces such as painted walls, shutters, mastics and asphalt joints with paper tape.
  • HYDRO R is applied by spraying, brush or roller uniformly in one or two layers wet on wet.
  • Before application on marble and natural or decorative stones you should make a trial application.
  • After the application, protect the surface from rain at least for 4 hours at +20°C.

Storage

Stored for a long time in sealed containers, in dry and cool areas, protected from frost and sun at temperatures between +5oC to +30oC.
